Deducting costs

Question

Hello,

I started working as a self-employed person in a secondary occupation a while ago. I only carry out activities that are not subject to VAT (I am exempted from VAT under Article 44). Am I correct in understanding that in this case I cannot deduct any costs?

So just create invoices and pay social security contributions?

I am asking this question because I feel that my administrative tasks seem too simple to be true…

Thank you in advance,

Joannes

Hello Joannes,

No, you cannot reclaim vAT, but fortunately you can claim all your professional expenses. What's more, because you cannot reclaim vAT, it is also included in your expenses in full. Be sure to do this, otherwise you will pay far too much taxes.

Best regards,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your answer! How do I go about claiming professional expenses? It may seem like a silly question, but this is all new to me.

Thanks in advance!
