I would like to use the Dexxter function to generate invoices for my own accounting, but design my own template using a graphics programme to send a different design to the customer.

Is this allowed?

That is not possible :) Unless you go via sales invoices and then "upload invoice". Then you can upload your own sales invoice and link the data to it.
