A while ago, a friend of mine asked me if I would sponsor him in his sport in exchange for printing my logo on his kit. I read in an article from Dexter that I can simply enter this.
However, I also run marathons and such. I was wondering if I could sponsor myself by submitting invoices for my running shoes, for example, and in exchange have a running outfit made with my logo on it.
Does anyone know if the tax authorities will accept this?

That's right. You can definitely submit this. But be aware! You must be able to prove it in case of an audit (e.g. with a photo). I wouldn't sponsor yourself, unless you are a member of that association.
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
