I have entered all my quarterly social security contributions under expenses. However, they do not appear in the social security contributions menu summary.

Have I done something wrong or do I need to reset something?

Are you sure you entered them under the cost category "social security contributions"? Not by chance under "social security contributions regularisation"? Because that is for final settlements.
