Question

I would like to work 4/5ths of the time so that I can devote more time to my secondary occupation. However, by working 4/5ths of the time, I will suffer a loss of a portion of my pension. Will this be offset by the social security contributions I pay as a self-employed in secondary occupation?

Or will I be working 6 days to receive a pension for 4 days? 🙂

If you pay social security contributions as a self-employed person in a secondary occupation (i.e. less than in your main occupation), you do not accrue any pension. So no, this is not compensated. As a self-employed person in a secondary occupation, you do not accrue anything, you only contribute.
