Hello,
part of my business involves buying and selling second-hand goods. I can sell these under the margin scheme, whereby I only pay vAT on the profit. Is there a way I can enter this in Dexxter? I can’t immediately see how to do this.

No, margin scheme is not included in Dexxter. I know someone who also needed margin scheme (garage mechanic) and wanted to use Dexxter. He asked the question, but it was not provided for in Dexxter.

Thank you for your answer.
That's a shame, not many accounting packages seem to have margin schemes... It is, of course, specifically defined.
I suspect I am that garage mechanic ;-)</
I found the explanation here: https://www.ciro.be/leerboek/btw_margeregeling.pdf
I found that boxes 00, 81, 03 and 54 are important in the vAT declaration. I am already dreading the end of this quarter.
There are plenty of garage mechanics, antique dealers and art dealers who need this functionality.
Another good source of information: https://www.makofisc.be/bijzondere-vAT-regelingen-de-margeregeling/
But again: it would be reassuring if this were integrated into Dexxter for us.

Update after my visit to a Dexxter Accounting consultant, but again subject to my acknowledging it as good:</
Upon purchases:
box 81: 5000.00
box 00: 5000.00 (yes, the same again)
box 03: 1652.89 (= 2000.00 / 1.21), your profit without costs, in fact By adding 00, 03 & 54, the State knows that amount too, of course. If you make purchases in other states, you enter the amounts in box 86 at the time of purchase.Dear KC, can you succeed in working with Dexxter and then updating the vAT declaration so that the vAT on the margin invoices is entered correctly? I am considering doing my own accounting with Dexxter, but I regularly make purchases and sales under the margin scheme. (Musical instruments in my case.) So I would appreciate your experiences or tips.In terms of summary, you can enter sales invoices with a specifically set margin of 21% and then your purchase amount to 0%. However, your return will probably not be correct.
In the meantime, I have mastered the margin scheme through Fintegriteit in Hasselt.I asked them to calculate an example and received a very clear explanation.
As a result, I understand the effect of margin sales on vAT declaration.
Dexxter generates an XML file that I open with the "Sublime Text" programme, in which I adjust the fields to my margin sales and then upload via INTERVAT.Hmm, it still seems a bit cumbersome to use Dexterr, doesn't it?Indeed, there is sufficient question. The same applies to OSS return, which is also not yet possible. The two things I personally need most are not included...
From 2018 to 2023, I paid my accountant an increasing amount of EUR 1,500 to EUR 3,000 per year for a simple secondary occupation. Now I only pay for the Dexxter licence. If I divide that 3000 by the price per working hour, I'd rather sit on my sofa ;-)
You're right, for me it's even free now as a self-employed student. Plus, my father is an accountant ;)
It's great to see how accessible it has become for people with a side job to do everything themselves.
You can always send me an email to [email protected] for the explanation I received.
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
