I recently started in my secondary occupation and am therefore still in the system of exempted from VAT.
I have a private person in America and need to draw up an invoice for them.
This must be done in their native language, English.
When I create a customer, I cannot enter the customer’s country.
Normally, I also have to set the currency of the customer’s country. I don’t see how I can change this.
Are there any other issues I need to take into account?
Does anyone know how this works?
When editing the invoice, you can choose English (dropdown on the right). You can enter the country in the field for the city, as this is not checked: e.g. "Denver, CO. USA". To my knowledge, you can keep the currency in EUR. We were in the same situation this week and the payment was made via PayPal. For the buyer, this is a transaction in USD. On an amount of EUR 450, there was a transaction fee of around EUR 25. PayPal does provide a nice detailed payment overview, including order lines and customer details.
That said, we did not create our invoice document in Dexxter, but in Word and then uploaded a pDF version to Dexxter. This gives you complete control over what is stated in the invoice and how it is drawn up.
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
