Question

Dear Sir/Madam,

Unfortunately, searches in both the learning center and the community did not yield the desired result. So here goes:

I have just started a business. One of the things I do is make and sell end products that I manufacture from all kinds of components (electronics, 3D prints, etc.). I often make purchases of these materials via AliExpress or Amazon. Especially for prototypes, this often involves 50-100 parts from several sources, each costing a few pence.Can/may I combine these in any other way, or do I have to enter a separate invoice for each part from a pair costing a few pence?

I found somewhere that I can combine the costs of the prototypes for my start-up up to about a year back into one purchase under the heading of start-up costs, but how do I do that in the future? Thank you.

In theory, it should be okay to bundle a amount of invoices from the same supplier and enter them as a single purchase. Although, to be honest, it would certainly not be our preference :)

This is because it will make any tax audit more difficult, as an auditor likes to view each invoice individually and see the impact on the accounts for each individual invoice. It can also make it more difficult for you to check whether everything is in your accounts.

If you do decide to bundle, only do so if it is the same supplier and only bundle invoices from the same quarter. It seems that I will have to thoroughly review my purchases process, because otherwise this will not remain administratively feasible in the long term. Thank you for the answer!
