Expenses without proof

If you want to stop this in your accounts, you will have to question for a receipt or invoice. You always need proof of your expenses, otherwise it cannot be verified and you will soon receive a visit from our friend Mr F. Iscus.

Do you have to be able to account for all expenses? For example, I have lost one purchase receipt... but that amount has obviously been debited from my account. What should I do about that? (I am exempted from VAT.)
