"Food" and vAT recoverable at 6% if I'm not mistaken. But don't shoot me if I'm wrong, I'm not an accountant.
Reception costs, I think.
Okay, thank you! Here I can continue.
Hello,
Just to share some background information:
I acknowledge that this concerns water that you want to drink, such as bottled water? You can include your tap water and water costs in your accounts for a certain professional percentage. We treat water here in the same way as your energy costs. For the professional percentage from your utilities, we use a standard of 20% in Dexxter. You may deviate from here, but you must be able to justify this in the event of an audit. An example would be if you have separate meters for your professional space, or if the surface area of your professional space is larger than 20% from the total living space of your home.
As for bottled water, coffee or other beverages and snacks, you do not record these if they are just for yourself. After all, you have to eat and drink anyway, so this is not a professional expense. However, if you offer these to your business relations, customers, suppliers, etc. , you can indeed record this as reception costs. However, this is only 50% deductible and the vAT is even 0% (apart from a few very exceptional cases).
The 6% indicated above is probably based on the vAT rate on general foodstuffs, but this has no impact on the vAT deductibility of certain expenses.
Kind regards,
Your Dexxter Expert
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
