Enter amount of daily receipts

Question

Hi!

I have been entering my daily receipts for a year now. I sell second-hand clothing, the price of which varies enormously per item. So I have never entered this per type, because then I would have hundreds of lines.

What is not clear to me from the video is whether I have to state the number.

On the one hand, I sometimes sell at markets and divide my daily receipts for that day into cash and Payconiq, referring to a simple, homemade cash register sheet for details.

  • On the other hand, I have a webshop and for those days I state the total amount received with a reference to the webshop.

Is this sufficient, or do I need to state how many items were sold each time, or do I also need to break it down by price? The example refers to 100 comics to €2, but what if each comic has a different value?

    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards

    Fien

  • Your current approach is good. You do not need to state the amount of items or break it down by price. Daily receipts should simply be entered as your income, without any further details.

For second-hand clothing with different prices, you can simply note the total amount per day with 'Daily turnover' as the description. You only need to create separate lines if you sell something with a unit price above £250 (incl. VAT) – in that case, it must be entered on a separate line with a product description.

For your webshop: the total amount per day with a reference to the webshop is also correct. Your webshop will contain more details anyway.

The example with 100 comics to £2 simply shows how you can work, but if you have different prices below £250 per item, you can put everything together on one line.

So 100 comics to many different prices, but all together totalling €500, for example. No problem, feel free to put it on one line in your daily receipts.

    Thank you!
