Discarding products

Question

Good afternoon,

We work with food, which means that occasionally we have to discard finished products because they are no longer within their use-by date.
Do I need to record this somewhere, because ultimately it is a sale-ready product that is being discarded?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

No, I used to have a friend who owned a sandwich shop. He stopped operating it due to the pandemic...Waste is just part of the business, everyone knows that (including inspectors). If it's really extreme, you can always make a note of it in your diary or something. A broken fridge or something that meant you had to throw away an extreme amount. But that will also be noticeable in your accounts, because you will have bought a new fridge or paid for maintenance... That's just an example, of course :)

I'm a plumber and I have that from time to time too, bits here and there that I really can't use anymore. That's also regularly the case at my regular job, just throw it in the bin :)

Okay, thank you all for your responses :-)
