Creating an invoice for the sale of an investment

I recently sold a printer that I had purchased as an investment and that had already been fully depreciated. I created an invoice for this and sent it to the customer. Now I read that I could have created an invoice directly from my investment summary here on dexxter by clicking on ‘sale of investment’. Does this make any difference to the way I did it?
