As a self-employed person with a secondary occupation, can I accept an assignment from the employer of my main occupation?

Question

Good day,

As a self-employed person in secondary occupation, can I accept an assignment from my main occupation employer? I work on a contract basis for a non-profit organisation that also appoints guides, and outside my working hours I am a self-employed guide in secondary occupation, which means I can also be a guide for my employer. Is that allowed?

Thank you in advance.

In essence, you can work on assignment for your employer if it is very clear that this is an activity that does not fall within your normal duties as an employee. I'm just saying, but for example, selling homemade plant pots to your employer where you usually do the bookkeeping as a salaried employee.

In any case, I acknowledge that this is checked very strictly, so if there is the slightest doubt, I strongly advise against it.

Thank you!
