Daily receipts on the day of services or the day of payments?

Question

Hello everyone,

I am a coach and people pay for my live sessions via QR code (KBC app), but I also have online sessions that are sometimes booked and paid for a month in advance (also via QR code, which I email when making the appointment). Should I include that income in my daily receipts a month in advance, or can I just do it on the day of the online coaching (a month after the money actually appeared in my account)?

The latter seems much more convenient and clearer to me, but I can’t figure out if this is allowed. I’ve searched here in the community and online, but it’s really not clear to me.

Who can advise me?

Many thanks in advance!

On the day of payment, you must register it in your daily receipts. At least, as far as I am aware. I do this myself, always on the day of payment (which sometimes differs from the day from the service).

Thank you for your answer. Okay, I'll continue to do it that way... :-)

I have the same thing, but I only recorded it on the day of the treatment itself.

So if I understand it correctly, that is incorrect?

Information taken from article: circular 2020/C/20>

The diary of receipts relating to transactions carried out at the place of business, as well as the supporting documents referred to in Article 15, § 2, relating thereto, including, where applicable, the duplicates of the accounts or receipts referred to in Article 22, must be kept at the registered office until the end of the third month following the next month in which the said diary was closed. If the journal of receipts is kept electronically, it must be accessible electronically at the registered office within the aforementioned period.

4. Pursuant to Article 15, § 1, of the aforementioned Royal Decree No. 1, the books that form part of the accounts shall, each according to its purpose, form a continuous series; at the latest at the time of use, they shall be identified by specifying this purpose, their place in this series, the name or corporate name of the taxpayer, or the member of the vAT unit from the meaning of Article 4, § 2, of the Code or of the non-taxable legal person and its vAT identification number referred to in Article 50 of the Code.It is always a challenge to interpret such texts correctly. :-) But I mainly read that you have to keep the diary for another 3 months after it has been closed. That you have to keep it at the company's registered office for another 3 months. I cannot exactly deduce from here when the receipt must be registered.
