Agreement to the quotation

• As soon as a party agrees to a quotation (e.g. by email, digital agreement or other written confirmation), an agreement is formed. A signature is often not necessary as long as there is evidence that both parties have agreed.

2. Digital signature

• A digital signature can strengthen legal validity, especially in the event of disputes. This can be a simple email confirmation or a formal digital signature via services such as DocuSign.

3. Burden of proof

• If it is not clear that both parties have agreed, this can cause problems. It is important to have a written or digital trail showing that both parties have accepted the quotation.

In Dexxter, you can print a quotation or invoice to a pDF document. You can then sign this document digitally yourself with your eID card reader (or Itsme if your pDF software allows it). You can then email the signed quotation or invoice to the customer. In the case of a quotation, you question the customer to also sign the quotation digitally and email it back. I create my quotations and invoices outside of Dexxter because this gives me more options to vary the layout and add updated terms and Conditions after the general terms and Conditions (this varies considerably depending on the services I provide). I convert these documents to pDF, which I then sign digitally before emailing them to the customer. I then upload the signed documents to Dexxter.
