Dear Sir/Madam, What about input (part of it) from, e.g., electricity & gas, when these are all in my husband’s name? Can this also be entered for business purposes or do the invoices have to be in my own name? Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I always heard from my accountant in the past:
-> If you want to claim expenses, it's not that important. Just have a document stating what you bought and how much it cost in euros. Of course, it must have been used for professional purposes (even if only to a small extent), but I think that should be easy to prove for your question. And you must be able to prove that you paid for it, but that can be directly or indirectly (indirectly, for example, via your joint bank account). I wouldn't reclaim vAT on it, because your name isn't on it, nor is your company number, I expect... VAT is a bit stricter. (Unless you're VAT exempted, in which case it doesn't matter). I do the same for electricity, by the way :)Hello, I have an additional question here. How do you determine how much to include from your yearly costs for electricity, water, etc.?
We only started producing jams in January, so of course we use electricity (induction hob) and water, but I have no idea how to determine what consumption I can claim for this.
Thanks in advance for your tips :-)
My accountant previously advised me to look at the square metres from my business (office space, garage for my secondary occupation, some square metres of the living room because I sometimes type emails there...). Add up all those square metres and compare that with the total living area from my flat.
Mr K, I have an activity that uses quite a lot of electricity (lots of machines that run almost constantly) and the percentage that came out of that formula was just too low. So I went for 30% for electricity, which is more than normal, I think, but my activity is such that it's appropriate. With the right story, some substantiation and without exaggerating, I think it's possible.
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
