Bpost invoices are vAT-free

Question

When I create shipping labels via Bpost, it’s always an invoice without VAT. The invoice also states: *Exempted from VAT (Article 44 of the VAT Code)

So I enter the invoice with an amount of 5.7 euro including vAT and 5.7 euro excluding vAT, right?
Apparently, Bpost does not charge vAT.

Now, when I send something as a private person, it is the same amount; I just paid the same price. And perhaps a little off-topic, but isn’t this unfair competition towards DHL and DPD, who do pay VAT?

Hello

A while back, something was posted about sending and sending costs, but I can't find it right now.Yes, just put exclusive and inclusive on the same line. If you are subject to VAT (no idea if you are), then you have to set the vAT deduction % to 0% in the cost categories (step 4?!).

Otherwise, at the end of the booking process, you will get an error message telling you to adjust it, so you can't go wrong :)

That's right, just set excl & incl to the same value. And then set the vAT deduction % to 0% to confirm that there is indeed no VAT. As "MZ" says!

That distortion of competition, it'll be fine! Bpost with their state monopoly, it's unbelievable that the Belgian government allows all that. Logical, of course, given that our government is a major shareholder in Bpost.

Just a quick follow-up on this: as of today, I have 'received' a renewed SME offer from Bpost. I clicked it away for a while, but now I couldn't get rid of it. This means that from now on, VAT will be stated on my invoice. Has anyone else noticed this? I always did as mentioned above, filling in the amount including VAT as equal to the amount excluding VAT.

What cost category is this? Or do you create a 'shipping costs' category?

I now receive invoices from Bpost by email every month, because I requested this, and now they do indeed include vAT.
