“I believe that a voice can make all the difference. I want to bring more warmth to the world of businesses and organizations. By truly listening and lending my warm voice, I—as a voice actress and voice-over artist—convey their story with the right emotion, so they can truly connect with their audience.

How did I start my business? It all began four years ago when I started volunteering as a narrator for Luisterpunt. Every fiber of my being was screaming that I had to go for it! So, in January 2022, I launched my business through Starterslabo, and since July 1, 2023, I’ve been working full-time as a self-employed professional.”

Ups and downs

“Under Starterslabo’s guidance, I felt safe, but now I have to figure it out ‘on my own’. Fortunately, I do have quite a few people I can turn to for advice.

As a self-employed entrepreneur subject to VAT, I actually started using Dexxter right away. Dexxter is very easy to use and gives you a clear overview of your finances, which helps you run your business more effectively.

Of course, just like everyone else, I have my ups and downs. The important thing is to keep focusing on what you can learn from them. At work, staying focused on your goals every day is a real challenge. There’s so much to do, and so little time. Balancing this with family life isn’t always easy.”

Big dreams

“What are my next milestones? I’d love to gain more recognition as a voice actress and, as a result, expand my client base and, in turn, my turnover. Performing voice-overs for audio guides and documentaries is definitely still on my bucket list, and I hope to work on an (animated) film someday.”

Dare to take the leap

“If I can offer one piece of advice: follow your heart and dare to take the leap! The biggest mistake I’ve made—and still sometimes make—is having an idea and not testing it out. I have to be careful to set aside my drive for perfectionism and trust in the expertise I’ve built up and the services I offer.

Also, push yourself a little; step out of your comfort zone, but take action in a way that feels right to you. In your interactions with clients, in your online presence, in your strategic decisions… in everything. Stay true to yourself!”
